Exploring WiSeR, a Workplace Individualized Stress-Efficiency Response System vis-à-vis a Gamified Movement-Music Therapy (GMMT) Approach

Abstract

Organizational competitiveness may improve with better workplace wellness as employees’ work-related stress is reduced while their work efficiencies and satisfaction increase. With the eHealth revolution, new opportunities have emerged to diffuse self-served, proactive, personalized interventions to impact workplace wellness and productivity. This paper explores the role and impact of WiSeR, a Workplace Individualized Stress-Efficiency Response System based on a Gamified Movement-Music Therapy (GMMT) approach to improve workplace wellness. GMMT is a synergistic application of movement and music therapies, further enhanced with gamification features, to intervene beneficially on employees’ well-being, productivity, and satisfaction. A review of GMMT-linked theories argues for deploying GMMT methodology to fill existing research gaps as corroborated via an initial empirical assessment of the benefits linked to integrating movement-music therapies in workplace settings. Specifically, the WiSeR system is purported to potentially reduce workplace-related stress, leading to better employee competitiveness and satisfaction.
