Human monoclonal antibodies — production and potential

Abstract

Monoclonal antibodies are being applied in both new and more sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These include the development of routine assays of exquisite sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility; the rapid identification of infectious micro-organisms; and the possibility of new forms of therapy.
