Towards a Model of the Upper Secondary School System

Abstract

This paper outlines the construction of a model of the later years of secondary schooling as part of a model of the educational system as a whole. Alternative classifications of subject groupings are discussed and the possible mechanisms underlying the progress of students as they move towards higher education are considered.
