Cardiorespiratory Collapse During Spinal Anaesthesia in a Case of Malignant Hyperthermia Syndrome

Abstract

A case of profound cardiopulmonary collapse associated with high spinal anaesthesia is described in a Malignant Hyperthermia patient undergoing a Caesarian Section. Subsequent ultrastructural changes in the myocardial revealed evidence of a cardiomyopathy which may have inhibited resuscitation efforts.
