Occipital Nerve Block

Abstract

Occipital nerve block is a commonly used peripheral nerve block which plays an important role in the management of primary and secondary headaches. In some of them, this procedure is necessary for both diagnosis and treatment, while in others, it is an adjuvant treatment.In this chapter, we provide the reader with a detailed explanation of the technique of proximal and distal ultrasound-guided approaches for great occipital nerve block along with a description of lesser occipital nerve block and their role in the overall management of headaches.
