Brain Disorders Associated with Endocrine Dysfunction

Abstract

Neurophysiologic and neuroendocrine research has shown that the neuronal networks which are responsible for changes in behavior, mood, affect, or perception are activated by certain hormones. The psychological and neurologic manifestations of endocrine dysfunction are reviewed, and the biologic basis for mental changes known to be associated with endocrinopathy are explored.
