Discussion of smart distribution grid system

The concept of SDG(Smart Distribution Grid) is discussed based on the study of advanced distribution automation technologies, which is an interactive network, combining the modern power electronic technology, communication technology and network technology with the power equipment, integrating the monitoring, protection and control of SDG under normal and abnormal conditions into the management of power utility and supporting the connection of distributed generation. The architecture of SDG is introduced, including master station, slave station and terminal station. The functions of SDG are analyzed, such as fault diagnosis & power recovery, intelligent simulation modeling, GIS(Geographic Information Systems) management and load forecast. The micro-grid, communication and sensing technologies are discussed.
