Development and Validation of a Mortality Prediction Model for Patients Receiving 14 Days of Mechanical Ventilation

Abstract

(Abstracted from Crit Care Med, 43:2339–2345, 2015) Traditional forms of patient prognosis with regard to intensive care unit mortality rates are ill-suited to populations who must remain ventilated for extended periods. The standard model for these patients is not applicable until 21 days of mechanical ventilation has passed.
