Abstract Eg.ger.thel.la'les. N.L. fem. n. Eggerthella , type genus of the order; suff. ‐ ales , ending to denote an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Eggerthellales , the order of Eggerthella . The order contains the family Eggerthellaceae . The characteristics of this order are the same as that of the family Eggerthellaceae . The species of this order form a distinct clade in phylogenetic trees based on the concatenated sequences of different datasets of proteins. Additionally, the members of this order can be reliably distinguished from those of the order Coriobacteriales and other Actinobacteria , based on multiple molecular markers in the forms of conserved signature inserts/deletions in proteins that are exclusively present in the members of this order. Type genus : Eggerthella Wade et al. 1999 VP . Taxonomic and Nomenclature Notes According to the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN), the taxonomic status of the order Eggerthellales is: correct name (last update, February 2025) * . LPSN classification: Bacteria / Bacillati / Actinomycetota / Coriobacteriia / Eggerthellales The order Eggerthellales can also be recovered in the Genome Taxonomy Database (GTDB) as o__Coriobacteriales (version v220) ** . GTDB classification: d__Bacteria / p__Actinomycetota / c__Coriobacteriia / o__Coriobacteriales * Meier‐Kolthoff et al. ( 2022 ).
