Imaging the Neonatal GI Tract, Also Including Liver, Spleen, Pancreas, Retroperitoneum and Mesentery
Abstract
The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most commonly imaged neonatal organ systems together with the brain, chest and urogenital systems. This is mostly achieved by radiographs and ultrasound sometimes supplemented by fluoroscopy and cross-sectional modalities. Congenital and acquired conditions will be discussed including the respective differential diagnosis emphasizing the role played by imaging with illustrations of the respective findings.
