Artificial Intelligence has surprised many with its scale and reach in a very short time . Yet there still remains limited understanding about this technology. This article aims to introduce and explore technology cycles, and provides a framework to understand current AI model both from a machine learning perspective but also to explore some of its limitations.
It also introduces a novel Ethical- AI framework to critically appraise technology from a medical ethics perspective and provides some guidance to medical practitioners and AI developers on strategies to develop and appraise future work in this areas to hopefully influence the future of AI development .
