abstract
These files are the raw videos associated with the paper by Parigi et al. (2019) "How predator hunting-modes affect prey behaviour: Capture deterrence in Drosophila melanogaster" in PLoS One. https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0216860or previous pre-printhttps://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/010330v1.fullincluding experimental details on collection of videos. In short, Drosophila melanogaster adults were introduced into chambers, allowed to acclimate, then video recorded for 5 minutes, following this either a juvenile mantid or adult jumping spider was introduced (or a mock disturbance) and was video recorded for 10 minutes (or until successful capture by predator).Filenames start with date, followed by a or b (which video camera) and individual identifiers for that date, and sex of the Drosophila individual.
