Western Medical Guidelines and Traditional Chinese Medical Guidelines: Improving Together through Mutual Learning

Abstract

The combination of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and western medicine is one of the characteristics of Chinese health system. Clinical practice guidelines of western medicine and TCM all are meaningful and valuable for guiding Chinese clinical practice. Thus, we discuss the current development, difference s and relationship between we ste rn clinical practice guideline s and TCM clinical practice guidelines, and give consideration and suggestions for how to promote mutual learning between western clinical practice guidelines and TCM guidelines, and in order to improve the quality of healthcare in China.
