ChemInform Abstract: [XeOXeOXe]2+, the Missing Oxide of Xenon(II); Synthesis, Raman Spectrum, and X‐Ray Crystal Structure of [XeOXeOXe][μ‐F(ReO2F3)2]2.

Abstract The first xenon(II) oxide, [XeOXeOXe] 2+ is synthesized as [F(ReO 2 F 3 ) 2 ] ‐ salt by reaction of ReO 3 F with XeF 2 (molar ratios from ≈1:2 to ≈1:1) in anhydrous HF (FEP reactor, ‐30 °C, 2‐4 h).
