Abstract

Light weighting of automobiles would improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. Newly developed high-strength, high-elongation (Al-Zn-Mg)-Fe alloys for structural shape casting applications have the potential to fulfill the demand for significant lightweighting of components.
