U-shaped production lines: A review of theory and practice
Abstract
Most writers describe the U-shaped production line as the special type of cellular manufacturing used in just-in-time (JIT) production systems. JIT is defined to be an umbrella term for a number of techniques whose purpose is to improve product quality and cost by eliminating all waste in the production system.
