Sur l'exemple des centres d'impressions sur étoffes autour de Courbevoie entre 1830 et 1890, l'auteur esquisse un modèle cohérent de relations entre l'industrialisation et les comportements dans le cas d'une urbanisation. Pour cela, il élabore une méthode originale de suivi des carrières à partir d'un échantillonnage nominatif effectuée sur les listes électorales de 1856, méthode dont il estime avec précision les gains d'information. Il met en évidence l'existence d'un modèle « hybride », peut-être caractéristique des centres en expansion : le mariage est tardif et la descendance limitée. De plus, la migration vers Courbevoie semble volontaire, majoritairement adulte, et inscrite dans une carrière professionnelle ascensionnelle. M. Grignon. Taking as an example the centers of printing on textile around Courbevoie between 1830 and 1890, the author outlines a model of relations between industrialization and behaviours in a context of urbanization. To do this, he develops a new method to follow up careers through a nominal sample drawn from poll registers, a method the efficiency of which is measured with accuracy. He makes conspicuous the existence of an hybrid model which may have been typical of the ascending centers, characterized by late marriage and restricted descent. Furthermore, migrants to Courbevoie seem voluntary, adult by a majority and this seem to be a stage in their ascending professional careers.
