Comments on the article `Photoelectron bremsstrahlung-analytical possibilities?' and reply

In the course of analysing spectra from the in vivo measurement of lead in bone, Chettle observed K-edge effects which he attributed to a phenomenon known as photoelectron bremsstrahlung. Evidence is presented to support the conclusion that the K-edge phenomenon is actually caused by electron binding effects in the Compton cross section. This is accepted by Chettle in his reply.
