Two characterizations based on order statistics and records

Abstract

Two characterizations are established in this paper. The first one is a characterization of the uniform distribution based on order statistics. The second characterization makes use of the conditional distribution of the second record value, given the maximum, for characterizing the distributions of exponential type.
