abstract

  • (Acta Obstet Gynecol Scand. 2017;96(8):1012–1020) While external cephalic version (ECV) can reduce the likelihood of cesarean birth and noncephalic presentation, many women are not offered, or they decline ECV due to low reported success rates. Factors which predict successful ECV have been studied and identified, but further study of the outcomes for clinically relevant groupings of women are lacking. This study used classification and regression tree (CART) analyses to divide observations into subgroups based on the factor that best separates those with and without a certain outcome. This resulted in a flow chart that may be helpful to clinicians predicting factors of successful ECV.
