The magnetism of the uranium chalcogenides

A localized model has been developed for the ferromagnetic uranium chalcogenides that describes their static and dynamic magnetic properties. The model describes the Curie-Weiss temperature, the effective paramagnetic moment, the ordered moment, the low temperature structural distortion and the temperature dependence of the C44 elastic constant, as well as the dynamical susceptibility.
