THE MAGNETISM OF THE URANIUM CHALCOGENIDES

Abstract

A localized model has been developed for the ferromagnetic uranium chalcogenides that describes their static and dynamic magnetic properties. The model describes the Curie–Weiss temperature, the effective paramagnetic moment, the ordered moment, the low temperature structural distortion and the temperature dependence of the C44 elastic constant, as well as the dynamical susceptibility.
