Double Photoionization near Threshold and Via Core Hole States Recent Experimental Results

Double ionization of atoms and molecules by single photon excitation of the neutral species from threshold up to the core ionization edges are reviewed, using recent experimental results on argon, carbon disulphide, methyl bromide and carbon monoxide, obtained with synchrotron radiation.
