Variation in Drosophila acetylcholinesterase

Abstract

We examined the Canton-S strain of Drosophila melanogaster for electrophoretic variation of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. The pattern of bands obtained (stained with acetylthiocholine) depended on age, sex, and tissue (i.e., head vs. body part and hemolymph).
