Stability of two-electron bound states in a model quantum wire

Abstract

The stability of two-electron bound states is examined in a model quantum wire. It is emphasized that the stability crucially depends on the Coulomb screening effect. If the screening length for the electron-electron interaction is of the order of 10 nm or less, two-electron bound states can be easily formed.
