1.20 Coordination Chemistry of Lewis Acidic Ligands

This chapter describes the transition metal chemistry of Lewis acidic ligands, including unsupported Lewis acids, such as GaCl3, and ligands containing a Lewis acid accompanied by one or more conventional donor group, termed ambiphilic ligands. Much of this work features group 13 Lewis acids, but examples of other main group Lewis acid ligands are also discussed, including those from groups 14–16, 1–2 and 12.
