The Kinetics of Spinodal Decomposition in Mn67Cu33

Abstract

The kinetics of first order phase transitions1 has been attracting great interest from physicists studying nonequilibrium phenomena, nucleation and growth, and pattern formation when a rapid change of external variables takes place across the phase boundary. Although there have been many theoretical studies on the kinetics, only a few experiments have been reported on the either order-disorder transitions or the phase separations.2
