Arterial load and right ventricular-vascular coupling in pulmonary hypertension

Right ventricular (RV) functional adaptation to afterload determines outcome in pulmonary hypertension (PH). RV afterload is determined by the dynamic interaction between pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), characteristic impedance (Zc), and wave reflection.
