New compounds RE5Ni2Sb (RE = Y, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Lu), Ho5Pd2Sb and their crystal structure

Abstract

New compounds of the composition RE5Ni2Sb (RE = Y, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Lu), Ho5Pd2Sb, which crystallise with the Mo5B2Si-type structure (superstructure of the Cr5B3-type, space group I4/mcm), have been synthesised and investigated by X-ray powder methods. Atomic position and thermal parameters have been refined for Dy5Ni2Sb.
