Marriage and Relationship Education in the United States

Abstract

Abstract Marriage and relationship education involves teaching romantically involved couples how to develop positive communication and conflict resolution patterns. Marriage and relationship education is founded on the idea that people can cultivate skills, attitudes, and knowledge that can help them create and sustain mutually satisfying interpersonal relationships and avoid relationship distress and separation, thereby preventing the negative social outcomes associated with relationship and family instability.
