Measurement issues in preventing anxiety and depression: Concepts and instruments.

Abstract

In this chapter, we first describe the different types of prevention and outline the constructs that are most relevant to each form of prevention. We focus on specific measurement issues that are most relevant to mood and anxiety disorders, as well as on the more general measurement issues that warrant consideration by those interested in the prevention of some of more commonly used measures of anxiety and depression, giving details of their psychometric properties and offering suggestions as to how they might be used in research or practice that is focused on preventing depression and anxiety.
