ChemInform Abstract: Synthesis of Substituted Isoquinolines via Pd‐Catalyzed Cross‐Coupling Approaches.

Abstract A palladium‐catalyzed α‐ketone arylation of bromide (I) followed by a reductive amination is used for the preparation of β‐arylethylamines (IV), which are converted into desired isoquinolines (VI) by a microwave‐assisted Pictet—Spengler reaction and a subsequent dehydrogenation of intermediate tetrahydroisoquinolines.
