Phenotypic plasticity, genetic assimilation, and genetic compensation in hypoxia adaptation of high-altitude vertebrates
Abstract
Important questions about mechanisms of physiological adaptation concern the role of phenotypic plasticity and the extent to which acclimatization responses align with genetic responses to selection.
