Mapping the Void: LGBTQ+ negotiations of space in a mid-sized Canadian city

Project summary

This survey project was conducted in response to the city of Hamilton's lack of permanent, public social spaces and services for Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ community members. The project aimed to capture the full range of this community's experiences, especially those of traditionally marginalized populations, by engaging this community in designing and implementing a survey, describing their lived experiences, and deducing what services, spaces, and institutional changes are required to meet their needs.
