Role of Magnesium in Parathyroid Physiology
Abstract
Magnesium (Mg2+) is a divalent cation that is essential for numerous physiologic processes. Ninety-nine percent of it is contained in the intracellular compartment, while 1 % is found in the extracellular fluid.
