Bisphosphonates for the Treatment of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis: An Update

Abstract

Bisphosphonates are potent inhibitors of bone resorption, which prevent bone loss, improve bone strength and decrease the risk of fractures. This article reviews the results of recent studies on the efficacy and safety of bisphosphonates for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
