Oral contraceptives and prolactinomas: A case-control study
Abstract
The amenorrhea-galactorrhea syndrome is one of the most frequent clinical entities observed in patients with secondary amenorrhea. It occurred in 25.7 per cent of 300 consecutive cases studied by the present authors. The availability of prolactin assays and sella turcica tomography could account for the relatively large number of newly diagnosed cases of this abnormality.
