Study of the 188Os(p, t)186Os, 190Os(p, t)188Os AND 192Os(p, t)190Os reactions

Abstract

Cross sections and angular distributions have been measured for a number of levels populated in the 188Os(p, t)186Os, 190Os(p, t)188Os and 192Os(p, t)190Os reactions. Particular emphasis is placed on the identification of Jπ = 0+ levels. Excited levels with spin and parity of 0+ were observed in 186Os at 1061, 1456, 1953 and 1990 keV; in 188Os at 1085, 1477, 1703 and 1823 keV; and in 190Os at 911, 1543 and 1732 keV. The total percentages of the measured excited l = 0 transfer strength relative to the respective ground state strength for the three nuclei are 186Os, 7 %; 188Os, 11 %; and 190Os, 11 %. The relative strengths of the (p, t) ground state transitions for 190Os, 188Os, 186Os are 1 : 0.80 : 0.70. Ground state Q-values for the (p, t) reaction on 188,189,190,192Os targets are measured.
