Best linear unbiased estimators of location and scale parameters of the half logistic distribution

Abstract

For the half logistic distribution, Balakrishnan (1985) has established several recurrence relations for both single and product moments of order statistics. He has also applied these relations in a systematic recursive way in order to tabulate means, variances and covariances of order statistics for sample sizes up to fifteen. In this paper, making use of these results we tabulate the coefficients of the best linear unbiased estimators of location and scale parameters. Values of the variances and covariance of these estimators are also tabulated. An example which illustrates the need for these tables is also presented.
