Cardium Formation 6. Stratigraphic framework of the Cardium in subsurface.
Abstract
We propose a formal stratigraphic terminology for the Cardium (Turonian, Upper Cretaceous) in the subsurface of Alberta. The new names constitute a framework for future sedimentological work, and emphasize unconformity-bounded packages, and intertonguing and erosional relationships, rather than a 'layer cake'. geometry.
