Beyond Belief: Religious Fundamentalism and Cultural Politics in the Age of George W. Bush
Abstract
This article looks at the increasing way in which evangelical religion has shaped the cultural politics and policies of the United States and the presidency of George W. Bush. The author argues that under the Bush administration, there is an ongoing attempt to collapse the divisions between religion and the state and that the implications for such changes threaten not only freedom of religion but the very nature of democracy.
