Measurement of the solubility of hydrogen in solid magnesium
Abstract
The solubility of hydrogen in magnesium was measured by a direct volume displacement method during absorption at temperatures between 676 K and 876 K, and pressures between 6.6 and 101 MPa. The solubility followed Sievert’s law and gave a heat of solution of 24,400 ± 1200 J/1/2 mole H2.
