RADAR ARRAY PROCESSING FOR ANGLE OF ARRIVAL ESTIMATION.
Abstract
In this chapter we study a radar system in which a transmitting antenna is used to floodlight the environment surrounding the radar site and a receiving array antenna is used to analyze the received signal. In particular, we study the use of a linear array antenna to solve the problem of estimating the angle(s) of arrival of plane wave(s) impinging on the array from unknown direction(s). The results of this study are of particular interest in two areas: Direction-finding systems and Low-angle tracking radar.
