Ion Structures in Mass Spectrometry*

Abstract

Ion structure and ion fragmentation reactions and mechanisms are reviewed, using ion dissociation, reactivity, and thermochemical methods to elucidate pathways and rates. A number of reaction types are described and discussed for illustration of the myriad ways in which ions undergo dissociation.
