  • This paper discusses the experiential teachingof innovation-based entrepreneurship through a UniversalInnovation Framework. The framework clearly delineatesthe fundamental differences between invention as atechnical event and innovation as a social event. It alsooffers a general and practical framework for theinnovation student to test whether their new venture ideameets all the requirements of innovation. Finally, it offersa holistic and iterative approach to developing thatinnovation according to a stage-gate model that providesa structured methodology to successfully developing a newinnovation-based enterprise.
