Abstract

Four series of narrow-disperse poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) with well-controlled molecular weights and with end groups of varying hydrophobicity were synthesized by room temperature atom transfer radical polymerization in 2-propanol using the corresponding chloropropionate and chloropropionamide initiators.
