Abstract
BACKGROUND: Most published reports on early amniocentesis are of cohort studies rather than randomised trials. This study was designed to assess the safety and cytogenetic accuracy of early amniocentesis in-contrast to midtrimester amniocentesis in a randomised multicentre setting.
