A closed-form analysis for space dependent nuclear reactor transients

Closed form solutions for the space and time dependent scalar flux and temperature distribution in multiplying media are presented. Correlations with existing solutions are identified and new functional relationships are established. In a numerical test it is found that the results obtained using the closed-form solutions are in excellent agreement with alternative finite difference formulations.
