Supersymmetry breaking in three dimensions

Abstract

One-loop corrections to the effective potential in three-dimensional supersymmetric massless scalar electrodynamics are calculated to see whether or not they spontaneously break supersymmetry. It is found that neither the supersymmetry nor the U(1) gauge invariance is broken by one-loop effects.
