Conformational change in fibrinogen desorbed from glass surface

Abstract

Human fibrinogen, eluted after adsorption to a Pyrex glass surface shows 50% loss of α helicity. Carefully designed control experiments show that such a loss of structure is due unambiguously to the protein-glass interaction.
